This problem happened to me before, and I fixed it. Now it happens again, and I forgot what the solutions was. Frustrated So I better write something about it, for my own reference – and hopefully you will benefit from it too.

WordPress Problem

Whenever I try to access my blog’s home page, it redirects me to an inner page. Can’t get around it, and therefore: can’t see my home page. Nor can my website visitors, or the search engines.

A major issue…

Plugin Solution

After researching online a bit, I found this post called “What’s wrong with the WordPress Redirection Plugin?” – Posted on August 17, 2010 by IT. And yes, it provided me with the solution.

So, the Redirects plugin is broken.

But the solution to these faulty home page redirects:

Go to Tools –> Redirection –> Groups –> click “edit group” to the right of “Modified Post” –> uncheck the Enabled box and save it.

Redirection Plugin Problems - Home Page Wrong Redirect

click “edit group” to the right of “Modified Post”

Redirection Problems WordPress 3 - Disable Modified Posts Group

uncheck the Enabled box and save it

And after I made this change…voila! I could see my home page again!

Thanx, IT!

Did this help you fix YOUR problem? viagra us know by leaving a comment!

NOTE:
I just found out that it looks like the plugin developer fixed it; the change log for release 2.1.29 (Sep 18, 2010) according to the WordPress Plugin Directory mentions:
>> Fix problem with custom post types auto-redirecting (click on ‘groups’ and then ‘modified posts’ and clear any entries for ‘/’ from your list)

Do-Not-Call List: 2.7 Million Numbers

In a I mentioned that almost 1 million Canadians tried to get onto the national Do-Not-Call-List – only 334,000 succeeded. Today I read that the registry now holds nearly 2.7 million telephone numbers.

That is for the I think 35 million people that live in Canada.

Pretty amazing.

If you want to register: go to www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca or call 1-800-580-3625.

Are You On Do Not Call List?

Wow.

More than 1,000,000 Canadians (out of what, 35 million?) tried to register for Canada’s national do-not-call-list yesterday. The CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) had to put a note on the home page of its website: please try again later.

As of 4:00 p.m. today, 334,000 people managed to register, either online or by phone, according to CRTC spokesman Denis Carmel.

But don’t give up – try again if you did not manage to register yet.

After all, once your name is on that list telemarketers are not allowed to call your number anymore, punishable with fines up to $15,000.

Do not call this baby!“Tooooooooot [ship horn honking]. Congratulations! You have won…”

By then I have usually hung up the phone.

Telemarketers.

One of the most annoying forms of interruption marketing: interruption telemarketing.
